The human brain is the most complex organ in the human body and arguably the most intricate structure in the world. It is central to our identity as humans and plays a key role in many diseases. This complexity makes neuroscience research particularly challenging, and today, most researchers need to collaborate to combine diverse expertise and resources. Some of us specialize in stem cells, mouse models, and molecular biology, while others focus on collecting clinical samples, treating patients, or developing new methodologies to unravel the brain's secrets.
BRAINWEST (Broad Research Alliance in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience, West Sweden) aims to gather researchers in Gothenburg and West Sweden with the mission to foster inclusivity and enable interdisciplinary collaborations by providing a strong network. This initiative also lays the groundwork for potential future grants and joint projects.
We have representatives from the University of Gothenburg, Region Västra Götaland and Chalmers.
